Astros All-Star OF Yordan Alvarez exits vs. Angels with apparent leg injury

Houston Astros star Yordan Alvarez left in the third inning of Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Angels due to an apparent leg injury.

The left fielder injured his right leg sliding into second base on a double. He spent several minutes on the field being looked at by a member of the Astros training staff before exiting.

Mauricio Dubon entered the game to pinch run for Alvarez and played left field. Houston was leading 4-0 after five innings.

Alvarez, 27, was 2-for-2 on Sunday, including a single. The three-time All-Star outfielder, including this season, is batting .308 with 35 home runs and 86 RBIs.
